Englewood… an Arts & Entertainment District?
Recently, four groups sponsored a “feasibility study” that asked the question… “Could Englewood possibly be turned into an Arts & Entertainment District?”
The four groups were:
- The Independence Council for Economic Development (ICED)
- The Truman Heartland Community Foundation
- The City of Independence
- The Englewood Business Association
Together, these groups asked “AMS Planning & Research”, a firm from St. Louis, to come here and peform this feasibility study.
The study was completed a few short weeks ago. I am posting a copy of AMS’ final report here:

It’s a bit of a long read. However, the final report says that Englewood does indeed show potential for being developed into a center of arts, culture, and entertainment.
I invite you to read over the report and see what you think!
